To What Purpose?

When one is born, there is a purpose for them to fulfill in the life given them.  So, when that purpose is blocked, and they are prohibited from fulfilling that purpose, what are they to do?  Stand still?  Or choose another purpose to pursue on their own?  If they choose another purpose which is different from that for which they were made, will that purpose be blessed and assisted or cursed and hampered?  If the former, than that proves that there is a higher power than man that can overcome the wishes of man.  If the latter, then that proves that whatever higher power there is, it is either limited in it's power over man or cruel at heart and enjoys creating beings to watch them suffer.  So, which is it???

Searching For A Master

I approached the master and offered him my loyalty. The master stayed silent while his servants sent me away. I returned to the master and offered him my service. The master stayed silent while his servants sent me away. I returned to the master and offered him all that I possess in this world. The master stayed silent while his servants sent me away. I returned to the master and offered him my life. The master stayed silent while his servants took what they could from my person and threw me out, bidding me to return no more. Therefore, I seek a new master to whom I can offer such things. One who is worthy of my fealty, service, devotion, and worship. Does such a master exist in this universe?
