I am not sure of whom I should be more afraid: those who kid around about killing gays or those who aren't kidding.

What are you passing on?
Many Christians today don't love because they have never felt loved. They won't open themselves up to feel God's or anyone else's love because they might get hurt. So, they can't pass on what they themselves do not have.
Many Christians today don't evangelize because they see prayer as a time to talk to God. They won't open themselves up to listen to what God might have to say to them because they may not like what they will hear. So, they can't pass on what they themselves do not have.
Many Christians today don't lead a very Christ-like life because they have chosen other Christians as their model instead of Jesus. They won't open themselves up to see what Jesus actually said or did because it may not align with what they see other Christians doing around them and they don't want to be singled out as different. So they can't pass on what they themselves do not have.
So go forth to love, lead, and live as Christ intended.
