Struggling Between The Immensities

Name:
Location: Wilmore, Kentucky, United States

I am a very complex person, with many facets that few people, if any, know about. That is probably because, while I am an open book, I leave it up to others to actually take the initiative to turn the pages. This blog is just a place for me to put down random thoughts and to think aloud sometimes. If you are reading this, thank you for your time and blessings to you.

Beers

Wells Banana Bread Beer
This beer has a golden brown color with a bit of a head on it. The flavor really does taste like banana bread, especially on the back side of the taste. It also has a bit of a kick to it in a carbonated way. It is very good tasting and I will be getting this one again.

Sheltowee 502 Amber Ale
This ale has a golden honey like color with a good head on it. The taste is very smooth and mild with just a hint of spice in the middle of the taste. There is a just barely noticable bitterness on the back end of the taste. Overall it is a very good ale to drink and I will be buying it again.

Bell's Amber Ale
This ale is a dark golden color with a good head on it. It has a mild flavor with a hint of spice in the background. It also has a bit of a bitterness on the back of the taste. Overall, this is a good tasting ale.

Flying Dog Old Scratch Amber Lager
This amber lager is a dark golden color with a good head on it just like the other amber ales I have been trying lately. This one has a bit more of an edge to it with more bite to the taste with more bitterness at the back end of the taste. The spices are also noticeable, pleasantly so. This is a good lager and I will try to get this one again.

Guinness Black Lager
This new lager from Guinness has a dark brown color with a moderate head on it. It has a good flavor to it, similar to a lager. When I first drank it my mind was expecting a thicker porter style taste. But it quickly became apparent that, despite the look of this beer, it is a lager. Overall it is pretty good, but I wouldn't say it is exceptional.

North Coast Brewing Co.'s Red Seal Ale
This ale has a light golden color with a thick head on it. It has a light, pleasant flavor with just a bit of bitterness to it. Overall a good drink for a hot day like today.

Brooklyn Brewery Mary's Maple Porter
This porter has a dark brown color with a nice brown head on it. The flavor is malty and deep with a hint of maple to it. It is a very good porter, but is only available on tap from February through April. So, I bought a growler and filled it with this.
