Struggling Between The Immensities

I am a very complex person, with many facets that few people, if any, know about. That is probably because, while I am an open book, I leave it up to others to actually take the initiative to turn the pages. This blog is just a place for me to put down random thoughts and to think aloud sometimes. If you are reading this, thank you for your time and blessings to you.

I'm The Best........Not!

I think the most often used phrase in reality competition type television shows is, "I never got a chance to show them what I can do." You have a group of people who cook, dance, sing, etc. for a judge or group of judges who don't usually pull any punches when it comes to judgment. And yet, week after week, you have contestants who are supposed to be putting forth their best efforts every time, complain when they are judged as lacking in their abilities that they never had a chance to show what they are capable of. Is this what we have come to as a nation? Where we go around saying that we are the best all the time. But when we are required to prove that claim, we fail miserably. Then to boost our egos back up, we justify the defeat by claiming some unfairness inherent in the process (I was never given a chance). I don't think a people has ever existed before who thought so highly of themselves based on absolutely nothing.
