I am a very complex person, with many facets that few people, if any, know about. That is probably because, while I am an open book, I leave it up to others to actually take the initiative to turn the pages. This blog is just a place for me to put down random thoughts and to think aloud sometimes. If you are reading this, thank you for your time and blessings to you.

Drinking Catch Up

Okay, I have let this go for too long and have gotten behind. So let's start it right off.

Samuel Adams Noble Pils
I tried this ale and really love it. It has a smooth, light taste to it with a little bit of bitter on the back end of the taste that is very pleasant. This is one ale that I will be buying and drinking until it is no longer offered. It should be disappearing from store shelves shortly since it is a seasonal ale and it's season is just about up.

Young's Luxury Double Chocolate Stout
I tried this on the recommendation of a friend. While the taste was okay, I really didn't taste the chocolate as much as I had expected. Instead, it had more of a coffee flavor to it, like a chocolate coffee drink. I probably won't buy this one again, but like most things in life, this is just my opinion of it. Someone else might love it.

Chimay Ale Triple
This is another Trappist ale from Belgium. I drank this ale expecting it to taste similarly to the Westmalle Triple that I had drunk earlier. While it was similar, it was not exactly like the Westmalle. My first impression of Westmalle was that it tasted like it contained grapefruit juice. That grapefruit juice taste was not nearly as noticeable as it was in the Westmalle. That is not necessarily a bad thing. I don't know if it was the unmet expectations, but I actually preferred the Westmalle over the Chimay.

Goose Island 312
I got this ale after seeing it on the television show Drinking Made Easy. It is a wheat beer, or an Urban wheat beer as they call it. It has a light and pleasant flavor, with little bitterness or taste of alcohol. It is one of the better tasting ales that I have found and will probably be buying it for everyday drinking in the furutre.

I will have more reviews later and hopefully get caught up in the next post.
